Client Need:
I.D.E.A Academy needed an additional classroom annex, complete with a full service cafeteria to accommodate the additional students. As a result of the Texas Cooperative Purchasing Network contract and Williams Scotsman’s ability to provide full turn-key design and build construction, Williams Scotsman was awarded the job.

The Williams Scotsman Solution:
Williams Scotsman offered the client total turnkey construction, handling the entire project development from initial design proposals to certificate of occupancy. Williams Scotsman constructed a 12,096 square foot classroom annex and a 8,288 square foot cafeteria facility. The HVAC systems for the buildings were designed using a split system application, allowing each classroom to have its own individual thermostat. The Rio Grande Valley experiences extreme heat in the summer, therefore each classroom having its own temperature control and a quieter system overall greatly enhanced the learning environment. The buildings included several large open classrooms, two science labs, a computer services classroom, cafeteria, and full service kitchen. All of the materials within the buildings were chosen for their durability and also aesthetics. The main corridor of the building was finished with fiberglass reinforced paneling, all of the ceiling heights were extended to 9’, and the floors were tiled with random multi-colored patterns. These features brightened the building and helped stimulate the minds of the students.

The Result:
Williams Scotsman provided full design and turn-key installation of the two buildings, while further increasing the school’s positive image within the community.
