Amazon's Alexa Fund recently invested in Plant Prefab, a Rialto, California based prefabricated modular home manufacturer with a 62,000 square foot facility. Plant Prefab was founded in 2015 and is focused on sustainable, smart and fast methods of building homes to meet consumer demand for homes that are environmentally friendly and available quicker than conventionally built homes.

Maybe this is why both Amazon and Google recently decided to invest in companies that prefabricate and install homes, offices, classrooms and other types of in-demand / on-demand structures.
