Amazon Invests in Prefab Modular Home Producer

Amazon’s Alexa Fund recently invested in Plant Prefab, a Rialto, California based prefabricated modular home manufacturer with a 62,000 square foot facility. Plant Prefab was founded in 2015 and is focused on sustainable, smart and fast methods of building homes to meet consumer demand for homes that are environmentally friendly and available quicker than conventionally built homes.

There is no doubt that prefabricated modular construction is benefiting from advancements in technology, design and building engineering. Maybe this is why both Amazon and Google recently decided to invest in companies that prefabricate and install homes, offices, classrooms and other types of in-demand / on-demand structures.
